Judge's Comments:  This painting has intrigue! The composition, variety of textures and shapes overlaying a beautiful glowing blue, all evoke a mysterious mood suggestive to the viewer of any number of scenes. Fascinating!

Judge's Comment: “Reflecting White Flowers” exhibits several key design elements, among which is that the strong focal point in the “sweet spot” of the composition is supported by stems and leaves, etc., that point right to the convergence of the two main “characters”. A strong design directs the viewer’s eye and enables it to further enjoy the beautiful flowers.

Judge's Comments: Hands are notoriously the most difficult of all subject matter, and this painting – in terms of subject matter - is all about hands! In deeper terms, I feel the artist has captured, in paint and composition, the title “For an Open Mind-PALMS UP”.
