Chairish the Moment

Thanks to Sharon Anderson, Charlene Beil, John (Jack) Morris, Sandy Herbst and Elaine Tarr who worked so hard to create a chair this summer to support the Student Arts Fund.   The chairs will displayed around Fountain Hills during the month of November and will have a silent auction sheet for bidding on the chair of your choice.  They will be displayed at the Emerson Gallery Holiday Show on Dec. 8, from 5-7 for the final bids.  Winning bids will be announced that evening.

“Celebration Chair” by Angela McGhee. It is a woven chair with rya crepe paper knots on seat back, wire and crepe paper extensions off the seat back top, and a crepe paper fringe skirt off the bottom of the chair front.  Colors reminiscent of Caribbean Carnival and Mexican culture

John Morris painted “Confetti” a Wooden stool with high glossy paint.

Sharon Anderson’s chair is painted with acrylics and coated with polyurethane for protection. It's the “Hey. Diddle, Diddle” cow jumped over the moon nursery rhyme pictures.

Charlene Beil’s comment: I tend to paint animals. When I saw this chair for sale I saw an elephant instantly. I have enjoyed painting it, but it is still speaking to me.

Sandy Herbst painted 2 chairs with a garden theme. They are called”Succulents and Such” and “Veges Plus.” They are painted with outdoor safe paint and sealed with polyurethane.

Elaine Tarr won $100 for the Summer Project. Chair is called  “Patriotic Fold and Carry Chair” - perfect for viewing 4th of July fireworks!!  Features embroidery of the Pledge of Allegiance, the American Flag and red, white and blue patriotic stars and stripes.
