Juried Art Exhibition Reception


You are Invited to a free dessert reception on January 10, from 6-8PM at the Community Center for the annual Fountain Hills Juried Art Exhibition , sponsored by the Fountain Hills Art League and Fountain Hills  and Fountain Hils Culture & Civic Association.  The show will hang from January 8 through January 31.  Original art is for sale.

 The show is open to all area resident artists in the greater Fountain Hills area, including the Verdes, Goldfield Ranch and Fort McDowell,  and FHAL members.     We are pleased to have two judges for this exhibition:  Meryl P. Epstein is an educator and creative artist with an EdD in Educational Leadership, an MFA in Fine Art (photography) and BFA in Graphic Design.  She currently teaches graphic design courses for the Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division as well as works and teaches for the University of Phoenix, School of Advanced studies. Dr. Epstein, previously served as the Dean of Academic Affairs for  the Art Institute of Phoenix and worked on the design teams that opened three local museums (SMoCA, Arizona Science Center and Arizona Historical Society). She is an award winning designer, AIGA Fellow and exhibiting artist.
 

 Dr. Gingher Leyendecker is Chair of the Art Department at Mesa Community College where she has taught life drawing and art anatomy for 17 years. She has a Bachelors degree from New Mexico State Univ in painting and drawing, a Masters in painting and drawing from Arizona State University and a Ph.D.from Walden University in Education/Adult Cognitive Development.  She has authored a video series titled, Dynamics of Art Anatomy used by educators and artists in the area of life drawing and has reviewed and edited college textbooks in the field of studio art education.
