Jackie began cutting glass at the young age of 10. Her eagerness
to fix every broken window from neighborhood baseball games played
in her back yard caught the attention of her father. Soon trips to
the local library, museums, and glass factory began so she could
research how to work with stained glass. Jackie practiced cutting
glass everyday and mastered cutting ¼” wide strips that became a
distinctive element in her designs.
While in college Jackie experimented with a technique new to her
which involved fusing float glass in a ceramic kiln. Although her
successes were few, the knowledge she gained was immeasurable.
Jackie holds multiple degrees in art including interior design,
studio art and art therapy. She has participated in several art
exhibits and has work on permanent display at the Arizona Military
Museum.
Today, Jackie uses specially formulated glass along with a glass
fusing kiln to create her beautiful, one-of-a-kind, functional and
decorative glass pieces. While she continues to experiment and
push the limits of, and what some may say “is not keeping within
the purities of glass” she will crossover those boundaries and
incorporate various metals to embellish her designs.
