My name is Melinda Kocchi, a fulltime jewelry
artisan. I have been creating unique jewelry for over 15
years. Each piece is a labor of love.
I began creating jewelry for the first time while my now adult
daughter was a little girl and never would have guessed it was a
life changing moment. We taught each other how to make jewelry
pieces for ourselves. Little did I know this craft would
eventually become my career and business, Jewelz with Pizzazz.
The handmade movement has captured the talents of many artists and
in the early 2000’s I became one of them. I retired from my day
job to devote more of my time to jewelry design using silver,
copper, lamp work glass, pearls, clay, wood and gemstones.
Currently I have been creating jewelry with vintage or recycled
treasures.
What influences an artist to create what they do? For me, my love
of nature and the outdoors are always an inspiration. I live in
sunny Arizona and on a daily basis see amazing sunsets filling the
sky with vibrant hues of pinks, yellows and oranges. The deserts
landscapes transitions and out come bold red rocks and soil, dusty
shades of browns just like in the rich, earthy jaspers.
Making my jewelry is truly a labor of love, and I enjoy the
process as much as the end result.
One of the best parts of being an artisan is the wonderful
customers I meet. My pieces are meant to be worn, and they will
last a lifetime. It is always a joy to create something with
special meaning that will be treasured for years to come.
Enjoy browsing my store, Jewelz with Pizzazz, and knowing a bit
about how natural beauty helped these creations come to life. I
hope you'll find a piece to brighten your day.
